Stari Grad

A lovely harbor on the north side of Hvar island, where the car ferry from Split docks.  A shopping center across from the ferry dock has a large grocery store and a Euro-style department store to purchase household supplies, decorative items and some clothing items and miscellaneous supplies and there is a cafe for beverages and snacks. Come back and tour the numerous historical sites--the original 300+BC Greek settlement ruins and the architecture of the ages since which have earned the Stari Grad plain the designation as a UNESCO World Heritage site.
